When you joined the Student Ambassador community in 2020, did you have specific goals you wanted to reach, such as a particular skill or quality?

Before joining the community, one of the most important goals in my mind was to break the boundary of my community engagement circle and extend the diameter of it at an international level. I wanted to improve my presentation skills, public-speaking skills, and story-telling skills at an international level which I feel I was able to achieve at a great extent at the end of my student ambassador's term. I wanted to extend my dimensions by getting in touch with amazing technology enthusiasts from all around the globe. I wanted to learn from them--how they build and maintain tech communities, and how they contribute to the community continuously to create greater interest. After joining the Student Ambassador community, I did find a lot of technology enthusiasts. Day by day, I became more and more inspired to see their dedication towards developing themselves in the world of technology along with sharing their knowledge with the community selflessly. Also, I learned how to manage and lead technical projects, groups, seminars, and discussions by participating in several interesting events in the Student Ambassadors community. I organized many in-person and online tech events such as workshops, seminars, competitive programs (e.g., AI Gaming) throughout my time as a student ambassador. Additionally, I was able to improve my technical skills related to cloud technologies by utilizing the benefits of Microsoft Azure provided to the Student Ambassadors. In general, the community impacted me in such a positive way which eventually helped to shape me as a responsible international tech community contributor and a leader who can inspire others for good.

What were the accomplishments that you’re the proudest of and why?

I was an author and reviewer in the ML for Beginners” curriculum prepared by Microsoft employees. I wrote the very first lesson, and I reviewed and contributed quiz questions for several other lessons.  It was a very exciting experience to contribute to the community through an official Microsoft project, especially one that has become very popular. I along with another student ambassador of country, Rizwan Hasan, organized first ever “AI Gaming Tournament” in Bangladesh which was an exciting experience where a good number of students participated in the contest making it a great success of that time. Another exciting session for me, was a workshop on Supervised Machine Learning, where I was a keynote speaker and organizer along with Rucha Yagnik and Vedant Bahel. This session was hosted by AI & ML League, and I was one of the league leaders at that time. Last but not the least, I am very proud that during my time as a student ambassador, I was able to inspire a good number of students in my local community as a Student Ambassador that eventually contributed to increasing the number of students joining Student Ambassador community from Bangladesh and my undergraduate university.  Furthermore, I got the opportunity to being a judge in Microsoft Imagine Cup Junior 2021, where I evaluated student projects on the theme of “Artificial Intelligence for Good”. The list is long and does not end here, because I am proud of every single contribution that I did as a student ambassador, to make an impact on the global tech community by inspiring students all over the world.

What are you doing now that you’ve graduated?

I am working as a Research Assistant at IAR, UIU for an Applied Deep-Learning based research project. Besides, I am doing part-time Freelance Evangelism on MLOps (Machine Learning Operations) for ClearML. Additionally, I am looking for post-graduate research opportunities in Machine Learning to do my Ph.D. degree, as I want to grow myself as a responsible and potential international researcher. In future, I aim to become one of the most impactful researchers of the world. I want to be in a unique position of contributing to mankind through my knowledge and noteworthy innovations in science and technology.

If you could redo your time as a Student Ambassador, is there anything you would have done differently?

No matter how many times you do a specific thing, it’s always a new experience. Time is relative, so if I would be able to redo my time with the community, I would have done a lot of things differently in a positive way. Day by day, the benefits of being a Student Ambassador are increasing. The opportunities are booming along with the chance to do something better for the community. So, I believe there is always room for self-improvement and making more meaningful contributions to the global community.

If you were to describe the community to a student who is interested in joining, what would you say about it to convince him or her to join?

If you want to get inspired daily, want to break out of your circle and expand your diameters, don’t think twice before joining the community. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

What advice would you give to new Student Ambassadors?

Communicate and collaborate with other Student Ambassadors from different regions or countries, learn from them continuously, and share your learnings and experiences with others. Be an active community member.  You will see the improvement in yourself as a person in a very short time.

Do you have a motto in life, a guiding principle that drives you?

My guiding principle is this: Be honest and responsible and do something at every moment that impacts people’s lives in a positive way.

What is one random fact few people know about you?

I have a great curiosity about understanding how the human brain works and how we shape our philosophies. I love to discuss philosophies, perspectives, and human decision-making processes. Many times, I help people with philosophical suggestions to improve their lifestyles or solve any problem in their lives.

Share a favorite quote with us! It can be from a movie, a song, a book, someone you know personally. Tell us why you chose this. What does it mean for you?

My favorite quote is: “And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it” - Paulo Coelho, from the book named “The Alchemist”. I strongly believe in this quote and try to follow this to build up strong motivation for working hard towards my goals and dreams.
