Hi,
With buying SQL licenses you always have the downgrade rights. But I've tried entering a bought SQL 2019 Standard Core license and entered into my SQL 2014 but I get the following error. Am I missing something here?
The SQL Server product key is not valid. To proceed, re-enter the product key values from the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) or SQL Server packaging.

@paalders , no, not always, only with software insurance.

That's not possible. A product key is bound to the product version, you can not install SQL Server 2014 with a 2019 key. Ask your reseller for a 2014 key.
