Good to hear Thomas and thanks for sharing, have some project depending on Server 2016.

Is there any news about SQL 2016?

Microsoft

These are indeed great news, 2 big customers in germany were also waiting for this support announcement to proceed with the next evolution of their environment. Thanks for the work team!

Microsoft

@Erwin Bierens, unfortunately we have currently no timeline to share regarding SQL 2016.

Good to hear Thomas
Will the setup program download the new settings in a greenfield installation of server 2016 or what is the recommended process to have a fresh and smooth installation?

Microsoft

@Henrik Börjesson, yes, it is explained here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4015888/how-to-install-skype-for-business-server-2015-on-wi.... Although I have to admit, my last smart-setup last week using this process got only CU3 installed, while I expected already the last CU5 to be downloaded and installed. Something else than explained to be taken into account for maybe?

Hello there, any plans to support Windows Server 2016  on CCE?

Copper Contributor

All,

Question: are the UCMA 5 bits supported on Windows 2016?

The reason for this question:

Ill want to add a UCMA application to a SfB 2015 environment.

According to the application supplier:

You can't install our Application on Windows 2016 as Microsoft does not support UCMA 5 on Windows 2016

Any statement from Microsoft on this one?

thx

Microsoft

@Henk Lasker, according to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=47344 is not supported on Windows Server 2016. I'll try to get more information. Feel free to ping me in a week.

Thomas Binder,

Any news on Windows 2016 Support for UCMA 5.0?  I would prefer to start with the latest OS for a new UCMA 5.0 app if possible.

Thank You,

Jeff

Microsoft

@Jeffrey Stevens, current status is that it was not tested, but there are still internal discussions going on.

Hi Thomas-

We have quite a few customers deploying Skype for Business on Windows Server 2016, and they need to deploy our ACD application which requires UCMA 5.  Could you confirm whether this is supported yet?

Thanks!

David

Microsoft

Hi @David Tang, unfortunately my informal sources where neither able to confirm nor deny -- I recommend to open an official support ticket.

Copper Contributor

Hi Thomas-  Thanks for your efforts.  We have opened a ticket.

Microsoft

@Henk Lasker@Jeffrey Stevens@David Tang -- I got finally confirmation that UCMA is supported on Windows Server 2016. Documents should be updated *soon*.

Copper Contributor
Hi Thomas, Thanks for the update.
Copper Contributor

Great!  Thanks!

Copper Contributor

Hi Thomas,

Quick question

Wondering ---- Windows 2016 Full or Core version applies to Skype for Business 2015?

Thanks advanced.

CheerCanada

@Cheercanada only full OS is supported.

Copper Contributor

The download for UCMA 5.0 still only lists Windows Server 2012R2.  Will the installer work on 2016 or 2019 now?
