Azure Information Protection Hands On Lab

Sometimes it can be hard to find good materials for walking through the core use cases and configuration of Azure Information Protection.  Last week at Ignite 2018, we held hands on labs that were very well received and we wanted to make those available to the public. To that end, we have reformatted and posted the hands on lab content to the public Github repository below.

This should contain all of the details you need to be able to create the lab environment in your own test lab, or simply to walk through the scenarios to help understand some of what is possible with Azure Information Protection.  Please feel free to provide constructive feedback as we hope to make these better over time.

Thanks,

The Information Protection Customer Experience Team

  • Great guide, perhaps you could add an optional step between step 5 and 6, about "Protection Activation". At least when I fiddled around with AIP I was prompted to manually activate "Protection Activation" (even though it was supposed to happen automatically).

  • Hi Peter,

Thanks for the feedback! It is true that most tenants are activated today, but I know there are still some that are not. Was it a challenge to figure out how to activate the tenant when you went to do it? If it was confusing or challenging I may look into adding those instructions.

    Thanks again!

  • Once you know where to activate it, it’s very simple. However, if it’s not activated it will tell you once you try to enable protection on a label, and the wording/guidance there is not very clear. I had to search for it at that point.

  • Peter,

Thanks again for the great feedback! I will definitely make note of this and if I hear of others having this issue I will make sure to add the instructions into the lab.

    Thanks!

    Kevin

are there any plans to update this to include the new Unified Labels?
