Hi guys,
I'm facing an issue of not being able to connect to the server when loading up the Microsoft Mesh app. The message shows "Failed to connect to server".
Things I've tried:
- Changed the internet connection to a different wifi and phone hotspot
- Reinstalled the Mesh app
- Windows Update for the Hololens 2
- Factory Reset, logged in with a new user and attempted to start the app
None of it worked, and the same error message persisted.
Is anyone facing the same issue? Could it be that Microsoft stopped managing the server for the app?
Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!
Regards,
Han

@han9604 Same question for me. Keep showing "Fail to connect to server". Would like to know how to solve this situation. Thanks!

@han9604 Same here. My password changed since last time I used Mesh, maybe there is an issue there, but the error message is about 'Failed to connect to server'.
I tried all steps (except resetting my device) you mentioned, plus I removed the Mesh folder under Apps in OneDrive, but it didn't solve the problem.

I did a session on 9 Feb. with 3 hololenses and had the same issues.
Trying to solve it checking the account and reinstalling mesh but i cant connect to the server. Are there online browser options to look at in mesh/meshserver?

@AndreaMorselliNo unfortunately it is still not working.
Because of this error description
i thought it might be some port blocking problem behind our company firewall.
Last weekend I took the hololens home with me and declared it as "exposed host" in my home network to see if it works if all ports are available. But when opening the Mesh App I got the same error.

SolutionHello Everyone, I received a reply from Microsoft last week about the "Mesh stopped working" problem. This as follows: The MeshApp will not continue and has therefore been deactivated. Here is still the reasoning: "We are committed to bringing new mesh experiences to market, such as avatars for Microsoft Teams, which are now available in public preview. At this time, we have made the decision to discontinue support for the preview version of the Mesh demo app for HoloLens 2. Initially, customers will be able to use Mesh on virtual reality headsets and PCs. We will provide more information about other Mesh features in the coming months.
Sofor me, unfortunately, it currently seems that we won't be moving forward until Mesh is launched as a product. Many greetings from Austria Hans-Peter Gasser
