MS Teams in Education

Copper Contributor

Hi Everyone,

I'm a high school teacher using MS Teams with students, and have a couple of questions that I'm hoping can be answered:

  1. Does anyone know when the breakout room feature will be functional within an actual Team? Right now, it's only available when you generate a link to a meeting, rather than starting a meeting up within a Team. This is frustrating because many of us have created Teams for our classes (for security reasons), but then we don't have access to breakout rooms.

  2. If we do generate and share a link to a meeting (to have access to breakout rooms), then students still have access to the chat and can even re-start a meeting, even after we've ended it and if we're not there (this is problematic). A solution seems to be actually removing them all as participants (a pain, but fine) - except you can never remove the last student. Does anyone know why or how to fix this?

TIA,

Christina
