Alerts firing long after being disabled

I created an alert in Analytics that was firing quite a lot. I disabled it about an hour ago. It's still firing. I confirmed that I'd disabled the rule by a Ctrl+r. Anybody have any ideas?

    Five more hours have passed. According to the Rule Status list in Analytics, all rules are disabled. How show I troubleshoot this problem?

      I figured it out. The rules were enabled under Monitor.
