Howdy folks,

Happy  Monday!

We are opening the week with some good news. Friday we released a refresh of the preview of our developer libraries for .NET! You can find the NuGet package here .

The most obvious change in this refresh is that we renamed our libraries from Windows Azure Authentication Library (AAL) to Active Directory Authentication Library (ADAL) .

By now you know that ADFS in Windows Server 2012 R2 supports OAuth2 and JWT tokens, just like Windows Azure Active Directory. Thanks to the symmetry of our protocol support on-premises and in the cloud, our developer libraries allow you to write native applications which can leverage your on-premises or cloud AD with the exact same code. So we wanted to rename our libraries to reflect that capability.

But the name change is only the most obvious change.  You'll find many others, like improved support for token caching and advanced use of refresh tokens. If you want to learn more please refer to this deep dive post .

This update is getting us real close to release. As usual, your feedback was invaluable to help us shape the features in this refresh: please keep it coming!
