Learn how publishers can validate SSO and provisioning, resolve issues earlier, and manage App Gallery submissions from start to finish.

Previously, publishing a new application to Microsoft Entra App Gallery could require multiple review cycles. Publishers submitted an integration, received feedback, made corrections, and resubmitted it, which delayed when customers could discover and deploy the application.

Today, we're announcing the public preview of self-service onboarding for new applications to Microsoft Entra App Gallery.

The new experience helps independent software vendors validate supported integrations before submission, resolve common configuration issues earlier, and manage publishing through a guided workflow in the Microsoft Entra admin center. Publishers can create a new App Gallery submission, associate validation results, provide customer-facing documentation and logos, submit the application for Microsoft review, and track its status throughout the process.

Validate before submitting

Configuration issues that previously surfaced during Microsoft review can now be identified earlier.

With self-service onboarding, publishers can test supported integrations against Microsoft Entra App Gallery requirements before submission, while they still have the context needed to address identified issues.

The public preview supports validation for the following.

Capability

Validation experience

OIDC single-tenant and multitenant SSO

Microsoft Entra App Validator browser extension

SAML SSO

Microsoft Entra App Validator browser extension

User provisioning

Microsoft-provided Logic Apps validation flow or SCIM onboarding agent

For OIDC and SAML integrations, the Microsoft Entra App Validator guides publishers through the required sign-in scenarios, identifies blocking issues, and generates the Test ID needed for submission. For user provisioning, Microsoft-provided validation tools test the integration and generate validation results that can be associated with the App Gallery submission.

The Microsoft Entra App Validator helps publishers identify configuration issues in new OIDC and SAML integrations before submission.

Submit and track through one guided workflow

After completing the applicable validation, publishers can continue the self-service publishing workflow. In the Microsoft Entra admin center, they can:

  • Create a new App Gallery submission.
  • Associate the applicable validation results.
  • Provide application and publisher information, support details, and customer-facing documentation.
  • Upload application logos.
  • Save and resume a draft submission.
  • Submit the completed application for Microsoft review.
  • Track the submission and respond to feedback.

Submitting an application does not automatically publish it. Microsoft reviews each submission before the application becomes available in Microsoft Entra App Gallery.

The guided publishing flow enables publishers to create, submit, and track new Microsoft Entra App Gallery applications.

What’s supported in public preview

The public preview supports submissions for new applications to Microsoft Entra App Gallery. It does not currently support updates to or removal requests for existing App Gallery listings. If your application is already published, continue to use the existing update or removal process. Do not create a new submission to replace an existing listing.

Publishers can initiate new Microsoft Entra App Gallery submissions from the Microsoft Entra admin center.

Get started

In the Microsoft Entra admin center, navigate to Enterprise applications → New application → Browse Microsoft Entra App Gallery → Publish your application.

Review the Prerequisites to validate and publish your app, then follow the guidance to Publish your app to the Microsoft Entra App Gallery.

To update or remove an application that is already published in the Microsoft Entra App Gallery, follow the instructions in the Update or remove your app from the Microsoft Entra App Gallery.

We welcome your feedback in the comments, particularly on validation coverage, diagnostics, and the publishing workflow. Your input will help us improve the experience as we work toward general availability.
