Does Azure AD external identity trust recognize 3rd party MFA providers ?

Howdy Folks!

In the Azure AD external identities cross-tenant access settings, does the following checked option (Trust MFA from Azure AD tenants) supports 3rd party MFA as well ? (i.e. Duo Security MFA). 

For instance, if the external tenant (abc.com) I want to trust is using Duo security instead of Azure AD MFA, would my tenant (xyz.net) be able to recognize that? Is it supported? any reference/info would be greatly appreciated

I've never worked with Duo but can't see why it shouldn't work as the trust setting is all about the MFA claim being satisfied in the home tenant.
