Force delete Group Site Collection after Group Deleted?

I don't suppose there is a way to force delete a site collection after the group is deleted?   I created a test group that happened to use the name that I now need to use.  I deleted that group day...

I've opened a support ticket. Upon further review, no Group that I have ever created and deleted (around 10) had its corresponding SP site removed.

So interesting resolution, the direct url: /_layouts/15/deleteweb.aspx did it (where trying to go via site settings and powershell didnt work)

As soon as I deleted one manually that way, the rest of them seem to have deleted themselves. Maybe the first one just go hung up in a delete job and was preventing the rest from doing the same

    Did support say it was a bug and a fix is coming?

      Negative, just got me to immediate resolution, if they did anything beyond that, I am not aware of it.

    This worked for me as well - thanks for the tip!! In my case, the other orphaned sites were not deleted -- I have one group site I couldn't delete (hence the searching that landed me on this thread), and a test group site I created to debug the issue. My test group site deleted just fine with your method, the original group site stuck around.

    Hi,

    I'm try this "_layouts/15/deleteweb.aspx" but it did not work for me got this error message all along doesn't matter what I try to do. 

    This site collection can't be deleted because it contains sites that are included in an eDiscovery hold or retention policy.

     

    I've created a ticket with MS and they been looking into it for few days but no luck.

    Have anyone experience this error message before?

        I deleted the Office365 group and attempted to delete the site via _layouts/15/deleteweb.aspx.  I got error "Remove-SPOSite : This site collection can't be deleted because it contains sites that are included in an eDiscovery hold or retention policy." 

         

        I suppose I can exclude the site in the Retention Policy.  correct?

    I am experiencing 3 group tiles that I have deleted from Admin Center > SharePoint Admin Center > Sites > Active Sites > Delete from here, have also deleted the groups from Portal.azure.com > Azure Active Dir > Groups, and have also deleted the groups from power shell, nothing works. Now, would you please spell out the URL in full because I couldn't follow that URL.  I will appreciate it big timie.
