More new languages supported in Microsoft 365 Copilot

This month we rolled out support for an additional 12 languages in Microsoft 365 Copilot:  Bulgarian, Croatian, Estonia, Greek, Indonesian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Romanian, Serbian (Latin), Slovak, Slovenian, and Vietnamese. Microsoft 365 Copilot now supports a total of 42 languages. 

 

There are a few noteworthy items in this latest set of languages we’re releasing. For example, very early in October, we have already introduced support for Welsh and Catalan, and it’s also important to note that the rollout of Indonesian and Serbian, which began in mid-October, will not reach all customers until early November. And finally, users working in Serbian language will see Teams meeting transcripts in Cyrillic, rather than Latin script. This is an issue we’re working to resolve.  We will provide customers with updates on progress towards providing Teams meeting transcripts for Serbian language in Latin script on an as-appropriate basis. We are always improving and refining Copilot’s language capabilities. We are also continuing to expand the list of supported languages, with plans to offer support for even more languages in the coming months.

    Hi Alex, the announcement is focused on the new languages.  We have made and will continue to make updates to Swiss German over the coming weeks and months, we tend not to announce incremental changes.  In the future we'll see if we can't offer more granularity into things like this.

    So yes, we have started rolling out capabilities in Indonesian language, but have not announced it as fully supported precisely b/c it's taking a bit longer to roll out Teams transcript report which is coming in early November.

    Thanks for the updates Ben_Summers 

     

    On my account, Indonesian language already available since late September, but one IMPORTANT FEEDBACK, please also support Indonesian in Teams meeting transcript, since the users mostly using Copilot to recap the meeting, otherwise it's less useful. A lot of Indonesian customers are wanting this so much. Appreciate if you could give the timeline on this. Thanks

    Hi Ben, what about German (Switzerland)? It is part of the same Feature ID: 411778 but still not mentioned in the Supported languages for Microsoft Copilot.
