Event details
Join Host Heather Cook for our Monthly Microsoft Global Community Initiative (#MGCI) Community Builders Network Call β and we'd love for you to join the conversation! All are welcome!
Agenda:
- MGCI Program updates
- Subcommittee updates from MGCI Board Members
- Topic: From Allyship to Action: Building Inclusive Speaker Line-ups and Events
Most organizers want a diverse stage, yet the same speakers keep showing up. The gap is rarely intent; it's process. In this session I'll share what we learned building Dutch Women in Tech into a community of around 2,000 professionals: where inclusive line-ups are won or lost (the call for speakers, the invite list, the first-time speaker), how to make venues, timing and formats work for people with care duties or different needs, and how to involve allies without turning inclusion into unpaid labor for the same few leaders. You'll leave with a practical checklist to use on your next event, from the charter to the recap.
Host: Heather Cook, Principal PM, Microsoft Customer Advocacy Group, Microsoft
