Can we Create UserGroup similar existing One

Hi everyone,

I’m Abirami Seeni, a Microsoft Certified Trainer based in Malaysia and India. I’d like to start Copilot and AI Agents User Groups for India, Malaysia and Singapore, focused on Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI agents.

In Malaysia and Singapore, there are existing Power Platform user groups (focused on low-code), but they currently have fewer than 10 members. My groups would focus specifically on AI agents, and I’m happy to collaborate with the existing leaders, for example through joint sessions.

My questions: respective to any Microsoft community

1. Is it okay to create a new group with a different focus in the same country?
2. If an existing group is inactive, can I offer to co-lead or help revive it instead?
3. Is there anything I should include in my application to help it get approved?

Thank you for your guidance!
Abie
