Intune auto enrollment in Workgroup environment

Intune requires Entra ID identity of some sort to be able to manage the device. However, there are exceptions depending on what kind of policies you want to enforce on the devices.

Entra ID identity is available. We want to know how to enroll to Intune if device is in a workgroup with least efforts.
Like one of the option would be to login to work/school account manually.

- The supported way is to enroll using Autopilot. However, this will require resetting the devices. Optionally you can possibly script the enrolment and push it using a remote management tool if you use one.

Thanks for response. Autopilot with resetting the device cannot be used, as we do not want to reset the devices.
I think you are refering to powershell scripts. Can you please provide some reference link to create script for Intune enrollment (workgroup environment) here.We need to first enroll to Azure AD and then to Intune, right?
- Correct. Sorry, I don’t have any references for the script, but if you look up powershell script for Entra ID join and Intune enrolment, then you should get a quite a few hits. Although, if you are planning to automate the Entra ID registration, then you may have to use a common account like DEM.

- Yes, you can enroll intune with user that have intune license into device, but in intune you need to apply policy that made possible enrollment for this users.
