Quick Question
How Good are you with answering business questions using Microsoft Power BI? You don't have to rate yourself on any scale, I have a challenge for you.
Consider the use case described below and the accompanying data, carry out a detailed analysis using Microsoft Power BI. This is the only way to convince me how good you are at answering business questions.
Use Case Description
The goal of this project is to optimize inventory management for the FitCapacity company by analyzing sales and inventory data. Using the business database, you are to analyze sales data to identify which products have the highest turnover rate and which have the lowest turnover rate. You should also use descriptive statistics to identify the average time a product is out of stock and the frequency of stockouts.
For example, you are to use predictive modeling to forecast the demand for major products and predict when stockouts are likely to occur. Utilize machine learning models, classify products into high-selling, low-selling and average-selling. This will aid in making decisions of which products to remain in the inventory. Once the analysis is complete, use the insights gained to make recommendations for how to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts. This may include adjustments to reorder points, ordering certain products, or discontinuing products that are not selling well.
You are required to work with this data and provide solutions to the business problem.
Challenge Dataset
You are to use the Adventureworks Dataset 2019 OLTP version for this challenge. More details about adventureworks database can be found in the attached file to this blog post (see at the end of the blog).
