Microsoft Teams for Education is introducing a new feature designed to keep parents and guardians informed about their child’s academic and learning progress directly on their mobile devices. This month marks the official launch of School Connection, now available in Teams. Tailored to enrich the educational experience for K-12 students, School Connection provides a straightforward view of assignments and more.

Effortless Visibility into High-Priority Items for Each Learner
School Connection ensures real-time transparency into assignments, grades, and rubrics. With just a few taps, parents and guardians can access valuable insights about their child's academic progress, including upcoming assignments, those due, turned in, or past due. This feature empowers parents to stay consistently informed about their child's educational journey.
Multiple Student Profile View
Parents can easily navigate and monitor the profiles of multiple students with School Connection, customizing their experience to oversee the academic progress of all their children, even if they attend different schools or are in various grade levels.
Unlock personalized learning insights
On the Teams mobile app, see monthly trends in a learner’s digital activity, reading progress, and assignment turn-ins. By understanding their child's strengths and areas for improvement, parents can provide targeted support.
Simplified Usage on the Teams App
School Connection is available on the familiar and accessible platform of Microsoft Teams, providing a straightforward and user-friendly experience. There's no extra work required for educators to use School Connection. Educators just need to use Teams for Education and the Assignments feature. Adding to the convenience, it is now available in your preferred local language, ensuring a personalized touch that enhances user engagement. Additionally, for added accessibility, dark mode is also available.
How to Get Started?
For Parents and Guardians
Schools initiating School Connection for students and parents will send email invitations. If you're interested in implementing School Connection in your child’s educational institution, please consult with your school and share this link with them.
For Administrators and Educators
Activate the School Connection app by navigating inside the Teams Admin Center -> Education settings -> Parent and guardian settings. Find the School Connection toggle, turn it on and select Save.
Once activated, administrators should notify their school parents about the app, asking them to download Teams on mobile, and stay informed about their child's classroom progress.
