Sharing Teams Class Notebook over multiple teams
I would like to use a single OneNote, ClassNote or Teams ClassNotebook over multiple teams (classes). Does anyone know if this is possible. At the moment I am having to have all students studying a single subject in the same team to enable them to access the detailed Notebook I have created.

KeirStanleyYou can distribute Pages and Sections to multiple Class Notebooks at the same time using the "Cross Notebook" distribution, so that the content in the student sections remains the same in all Class Notebooks. You can also use the "Copy to Content Library" to copy from one Class Notebook to another. The 'Teacher Only' section and collaboration space cannot be shared. Use the Class Notebook tab of the ribbon in the desktop versions of OneNote to use these features. Here is how I would manage this situation:
- Set-up the Class Notebook in each class Team ensuring that the student sections used are named exactly the same in each notebook
- Decide on a Class Section/Group/Team that will serve as the "main notebook" for the course > Create all content for the course in the 'Teacher only' and 'Content library' section of this Notebook
- Use the 'Copy to Content' library each time content is added to the main notebook that is applicable to all Class sections/groups
- For assignments, create the assignment from the 'Assignments' tab of the Team containing the main notebook. Select all class sections/groups that you want to receive the Assignment, attach the relevant OneNote page(s) and choose the section of the student Notebook to put the page
- To distribute handouts or notes to individual student notebooks use the 'Distribute Page' (or 'Distribute New Section' if distributing a section with multiple existing pages) feature in the OneNote desktop app with the 'Cross Notebook Distribution' option to put copies in the student sections of all the Class groups/Teams
- To copy content between content between 'Teacher only' sections (not really needed if you are the only teacher on all the sections and have access to each), open all the Class Notebooks in the OneNote desktop app and right click on the section/page and use the 'Move/Copy' command to copy into the other Notebooks
This workflow is less optimal then having a single notebook for the course, but will allow you to relatively easily maintain the same content and structure in each Class Notebook provided you get in the habit when creating the content of distributing it accordingly. There is a way to share a Class Notebook created outside Teams with multiple Microsoft 365 groups, but this doesn't integrate with the Team and Teams assignments in the same way. Also, your tenant permissions may prevent you from creating Class Notebooks outside of a Team. I think the integration with the Team is an advantage and I would opt for the extra distribution steps.

Yes I have used the copy option when moving from OneNote to ClassNotebook and then on to MS Team Notebook.
Does the system automatically update the subsequent copies or are they stuck at the time of copying?
E.g. If I have FIVE classes of GCSE Business in different teams to I need to update each individually or can I just update Y10A and the rest will follow?- rjc0512Copper ContributorFrom what I've seen you need to send it out again with each update.... unfortunately
