Collaboration in Class Notebooks
I had posted this in the http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_onenote-mso_win10/best-practice-for-collaborating-in-class-notebooks/a00534e9-6f82-4f39-ae72-4bf384f7b8eb but I seem to be getting no where.
Does anyone have a best practice approach for using Class Notebooks for in class collaborative tasks?
We use Class Notebooks in every subject at our school and more often that not when we use the collaboration space we get conflict pages appearing. Much of what I have read says that this occurs when students type in the same place on the page. However we tried avoiding this using tables and the pages still appear.
Next we tried to make sure that all of the students editing the collaborative page were using the online version of OneNote so that their devices synchronising back and forth couldn't be blamed for the conflicts. And this didn't work.
Even though the teacher is not editing the page could his/her laptop be causing the problem?
There really needs to be some improvement on the way OneNote works collaboratively and at the very least guidance on how to do it in a way that avoids any conflict pages.
If there is such guidance please let me know
Thanks,
Chris

Same problem here. It's because of syncing.
If you really want real-time collaboration you will have to use word online....

We have exactly the same problems.
Looking forward to an answer.

Hi Chris Thackray, could you post a screenshot of the error that users are getting when this goes wrong?
If syncing would be the problem then I would suggest to make sure that the onenote app is not used at all. Then it would be quite certain that the issue would be caused by something else.
