Velocity Chart Not Showing Planned Work (Blue Bar) for Specific Sprints

Copper Contributor

I researched a lot and discussed with my friends as well on this issue but could not get any help. The Velocity Chart widget is not showing planned work (Blue Bar) for first 3 sprints. Earlier it was showing but suddenly it stopped showing. I am unable to find the reason. However from sprint 4 (current sprint) it is showing the planned work.

Any help would be appreciated.

@Neeraj_Kumar700 - Did you ever get a response to this or manage a way around it.

It seems that I am now experiencing similar issues.  Planned items not fully accounted for and also some items which do not fall within the sprint iteration path are being included.

Thanks

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot why planned work (blue bar) isn't showing in the Velocity Chart for specific sprints in Azure DevOps.

Step 1: Check the Iteration Path
Make sure your work items are assigned to the correct iteration path for those sprints. If they're not, the chart won't show the planned work.
Step 2: Verify Work Item State
Confirm that your work items were in the planned state before the sprint started. If they were added or moved mid-sprint, the Velocity Chart might not count them as planned work.
Step 3: Review the Area Path
Ensure your team's area path hasn't changed, as this can mess with how the data is pulled for the chart.
Step 4: Backlog Settings
Double-check that the right work item types (like stories or bugs) are included in your backlog settings. If not, the chart won't track all the relevant items.
By going through these steps, you should be able to identify why planned work isn't showing up for those sprints.
