Hey guys. I'm new to the Azure platform and am giving it a go to set up a simple SQL database with a single table. Nothing huge, and more of a demonstration on handling large data sets for my organization.
I have set up the Server and the Database in Azure, along with an Active Directory user (myself) for administration/subscription level management. My problem is that with my Active Directory login, I am unable to connect to the server/database at all. I've tried with Power BI/SSMS, and Azure Data Studio. Every time, I am given the same error. Even though in Data Studio, the connection is found and the subscription automatically populates - I can't get in. I have set the firewall to allow my IP as well as setting up a Role for myself under contributor. It seems as though there's something painfully obvious I'm missing.
Microsoft.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)
---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (10061): No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
