When working for hours with a RDC on a Mac, copy / paste stops working between host and remote computer. Remote Desktop for Mac then needs to be restarted to restore the feature.

I get errors about post flooding. But this is my first message ever here. :o

Hi MRisberg,

There is a server-side issue that causes a hang up with clipboard in remote sessions, we are planning a fix for this issue. In the meantime, an immediate solution is as follows: end the RDPclip.exe process which will automatically restart and resolve your issue. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. It's good to hear that this is being worked on.

This RDPclip.exe process, is it found on the server end? Can't see a process by that name on my Mac, with or without the extension .exe, while running Remote Desktop.

Hi @MRisberg ,

This RDPclip.exe process, is it found within the Remote Desktop aka the server end. Therefore, in the Windows OS on your Remote Desktop go to Task Manager -> Details -> scroll down to rdpclop.exe -> select End Task

I have been having the same issue for over a year. Finally got here somehow as this is not visible on google.

I tried killing rdpclip.exe on the server but it did not restart.

I'm seeing the same issue in macOS RDC version 10.7.6 (1972).

Hi @x_brett365, it took a while but I found a post from someone who solved his issue with M-RDP when he closed a program which 'copied' clipboard to a list. Software like CopyClip.

In my case it was Parallels Toolbox, this toolbox also has a feature which is capable of saving clipboard history and when I quit this APP the issues were gone. Maybe you also have such a program running ...?

Thank you @Robert_de_Vries . Unfortunately I’m not running anything like that, except for a password manager (but I don’t use that all that often during the day). I will consider that as a possibility though.
Actually, I’m almost always copying from Azure Data Studio (Mac) and pasting into RDP when it fails.

Update, and special thanks to @Robert_de_Vries . While I don’t use any 3rd party clipboard managers, I did have the remote machine (windows 10) set to use the clipboard history. I turned it off and have not had the problem since. (!!!)

Thank you again and I hope this helps someone else.
