Access Server File in URL

I have uploaded a file onto my Azure Ubuntu server, now I wish to access it by navigating to it through my public IP and I am not accomplishing this goal. First I am not sure what format I can find it as in the URL search box, such as after http://xx.xxx.xxx.xx/ what should I enter to not obtain 404 Not Found? I know my file's path is /home/username/file.ext though this does not work when I append it to my public IP address. Another possibility I thought of is I do not know if I have to enable sharing nor how.

 

Note. I do not utilize any extensions such SharePoint or Azure Files
