Experiencing Data Access issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types - 04/22 - Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 04/23, 01:30 UTC. Our logs show that the incident started on 04/22, 19:20 UTC and that during the 6 hours and 10 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some of the customers might have experienced intermittently inaccurate or missing data within the Live Diagnostics (also known as Live Metrics) experience.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to a recent configuration change in one of our backend services.
  • Incident Timeline: 6 Hours & 10 minutes - 04/22, 19:20 UTC through 04/23, 01:30 UTC
We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We continue to investigate issues within Application Insights. Root cause is not fully understood at this time. Some customers continue to experience intermittent inaccurate or missing data within Live Diagnostics (also known as Live Metrics) experience. We are working to establish the start time for the issue, initial findings indicate that the problem began at 04/22 19:20 UTC. We currently have no estimate for resolution.
