We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 02/08, 17:40 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 02/08, 16:15 UTC and that during the 1 hour and 25 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some customers in West Europe Region experienced data access issues and misfired log search alerts.
- Root Cause: The failure was due to an issue within compute resources after a backend update process completed which caused nodes to fail to initialize.

We are aware of issues within Log Analytics and are actively investigating. Some customers may experience data access issue in Azure Portal and issues with delayed or missed Log Search Alerts in West Europe Region.
