Experiencing Alerting Failure issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types - 10/03 - Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 10/03, 17:27 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 10/03, 06:27 UTC and that during the 11 hours that it took to resolve the issue some customers may receive errors when accessing or performing service management operations such as creating, updating or deleting of Action rules for Azure Alerts. The alerts notifications are not impacted.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to issues with one of the backend services
  • Incident Timeline: 11 Hours - 10/03, 06:27 UTC through 10/03, 17:27 UTC
We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We continue to investigate issues within Azure Monitor. Some customers may  receive errors when accessing or performing service management operations such as creating, updating or deleting of Action rules for Azure Alerts. The alerts notifications are not impacted.  The problem began at 10/03 06:27 UTC
