VMware HCX traffic flow with Network Virtual Appliance in Azure Virtual Network
Hi all,
I am working on a AVS environment where we are using Network Virtual Appliance in Azure Virtual Network to inspect all network traffic. Please refer to Scenario 2 from the below link:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cloud-adoption-framework/scenarios/azure-vmware/example-architectures
We need to use HCX for migrate our windows servers from on-premise to Azure Cloud and wanted to know what all prerequisites we need to validate on-premise or on HCX installation before we move forward? Though, we will first try to migrate few test VMs but any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Are there any hair-pinning issues that we might observe on-premise?
Regards
Pk

HCX on-premises installation: Ensure that HCX is installed and configured correctly in your on-premises environment. This includes deploying the HCX Manager, HCX Connector, and HCX Interconnect appliances, and ensuring that they are all properly licensed.
Network Connectivity: Verify that there is adequate network connectivity between your on-premises environment and Azure, and that there are no firewalls or other network security configurations that would block traffic between the two environments. You should also ensure that you have the necessary VPN or ExpressRoute connections established between on-premises and Azure.
Compute and Storage: Ensure that you have sufficient compute and storage resources available in Azure to support the VMs you plan to migrate. You should also ensure that the VMs meet Azure's requirements for VM size, storage type, and other configurations.
Windows Server Compatibility: Ensure that the Windows servers you plan to migrate are compatible with Azure, and that they meet the necessary licensing requirements. You should also ensure that any third-party applications or services running on the servers are compatible with Azure.
HCX Migration Plan: Plan your migration carefully, taking into account the dependencies between applications and services running on your Windows servers. You should also consider any customizations or configurations that may be required during the migration process.
Security and Compliance: Ensure that your migration process is compliant with any security and compliance requirements for your organization, such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, or other regulations. You should also ensure that all data is encrypted during the migration process and at rest in Azure.
