"Indirect" link type

Does anyone know how the "Indirect" link type in Azure DevOps is used?  I am trying to find a way to link PBIs to a Feature (not as child-parent, not related) so that I would be able to make a query to see a number of PBIs linked to it, thus bumped into "Indirect" link type if I can use it for this purpose.
