Did you know Microsoft has a range of tech and IT training courses that you can check out for free? If you don’t know what a MOOC is or never heard of edX this could just possible rock your world!
Learning new skills can be difficult, it takes time, you need the right motivation and also costs can play a factor. What if you could try out a course for free, going through the course contents online in a self-study pace to fit in with other commitments. You can also chat with other students taking the course, network, ask questions and such. Sounds pretty good right?
These are Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), anyone can enrol in a course and try it out or as it’s known, audit the course for free. Microsoft has partnered with edX.org to provide these courses online.
So if you have started a course, you can continue going through the rest of course contents and still not have spent a dime but what if you’d like to prove your expertise and take it up a notch.
Paying a small fee, you can receive assessments during the course, which will test your knowledge on the subject and when you pass the course you get a verified certificate. As part of this process, your ID is checked, which is straightforward and can be done on a smartphone.
