(This post was published on the original RMS team blog in April 2010.)

The AD RMS team has posted some new videos on http://edge.technet.com/Tags/RMS/ that walk through a few of the AD RMS Step-by-step guides located on TechNet.  These videos mirror the steps from the guide and provide additional insight and best practices for deploying in a production environment.

  • The video http://edge.technet.com/Media/Installing-AD-RMS/ shows you how to install AD RMS and shares a few best practices while following http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725699(WS.10).aspx from the http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753531(WS.10).aspx .
  • We've created a video series that follows the http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731070(WS.10).aspx . The first video, http://edge.technet.com/Media/Creating-an-Active-Directory-RMS-Rights-Policy-Template/ , walks through the process of creating a template using the AD RMS console. http://edge.technet.com/Media/Configuring-the-Active-Directory-RMS-Client/ looks at distributing the templates to end users and http://edge.technet.com/Media/Verifying-Rights-Policy-Template-Functionality/ demonstrates how to use templates to create and consume protected content.
  • In addition, we have also created two videos that show how AD RMS can protect e-mail messages. http://edge.technet.com/Media/Protecting-an-E-mail-with-AD-RMS/ provides a simple overview of the process. http://edge.technet.com/Media/Protecting-an-E-mail-and-Attachment-with-AD-RMS/ goes one step further to show how unprotected Microsoft Office documents can inherit AD RMS protection from a protected e-mail message.
