Reasons why I no longer actively use TechCommunity since the upgrade
Thanks very much for taking the time to share your feedback, it’s genuinely appreciated.
On the automatic sign‑in experience: this behavior is driven by Microsoft Edge and was introduced while we were still on the classic UI, just ahead of the platform upgrade. I completely agree that this can be frustrating and that it disrupts what should be a smooth sign‑in experience. Ideally, we’d be able to intercept this flow and let you choose which account to use when signing in to the Microsoft Tech Community; unfortunately, that isn’t something our current authentication setup supports today.
That said, we are actively looking at ways to improve this. In the near term, we’ll be rolling out full account logout functionality. This will allow you to sign out directly from the avatar menu and choose which account you want to log out from. At the moment, signing out only ends your community session; after this change, it will sign you out of the underlying account as well. As a result, the next time you sign in, you’ll be prompted to choose which account you want to use. It’s not a perfect solution, but it is a positive step forward while we continue to explore longer‑term options.
Regarding your comment about editing posts, I may be missing some context. If you’re able to share a bit more detail about what you’re seeing, I’d be happy to take another look.
Finally, on moderation feedback, I believe we’ve touched on this in another thread, but I agree that clearer confirmation (for example, a message indicating that a post has been approved) would make the experience feel more transparent. I’ll add this to our backlog for consideration.
Thanks again for the thoughtful input, feedback like this really does help us improve the experience for everyone.
