Make Copilot less intrusive in Microsoft Word

Hi;

I like Copilot and find it useful to a point. Copilot automatically starting in my document is intrusive and interferes with my writing. I would prefer to toggle the function on and off.

When I am managing a document the Copilot icon along with some other functions make selecting and editing text difficult. Instead of being able to thoughtfully consider my writing I am forced to fight with Word for visual space on the page.

I would prefer that the Copilot in Word behave as it does in Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote and only appear when selected.

Are there any plans to toggle on/off the 'draft' Copilot?

    Strongly support this. The Copilot icon floating on what should be a blank page is distracting and annoying. If I want to use it, I'll go to the taskbar. Please enable it to be toggled off.

    I want a clean paper when I write.

    I want to have the tools in the toolbar where I can find them if I need them.

    I will have it.

    The real question is, will it be Word or an alternative to it?

    I'd like the option to completely remove all functionality and intrusiveness of co-pilot.  From my usage so far It seems to be an over-rated gimmick being forced upon users and I find it a huge unnecessary distraction. Please consider allowing users to remove it.  For example in MS Word the copilot cursor is intrusive and constantly irritating.  I've now use an alternative to MS word and then paste into a word doc after completion.

    Annica covered it. As a writer, I want a clean paper experience - garbage floating icons distract and pollute my creativity. When I want a tool, I will go to the toolbar.

    I support this strongly!

    It is really annoying to the point that I am prepared to opt out of Office completely to get away from that icon. I don't want an icon hovering in my left column. I don't want any icons, tools or "aids" unless I call for them.
