After working properly for a long time Windows App for Mac suddenly is unable to access the keychain.

I found the problem. When the old Remote Desktop app was replaced the New app didn't get permission to access the keychain and so any password changes are blocked. It requires the app to be given permission for each of the saved passwords in the keychain.
