Thanks MKambo . Unfortunately, my fleet of users do not all have access to external usb web cams. Will there be an application update in the near future fixing the manifest to allow it to install on chromebooks going forward?

Hello,
This is Manpreet.
Here is a resolution to this issue, for users working on laptops or devices which only have/support front camera, "Connect an external webcam to your device and you will be able to download the application".Let me know if this helps.

John_Spencer John,
I really appreciate the help. The two Chromebooks models that I have are the following:
Asus - C536E and
HP Chromebook 14a (14a-na0037nr)
It would be great to be able to add remote desktop back,
Thanks again so much,
Dan

John_Spencer I think i know what happened. They added camera support in this version, but didn't make it optional in the app manifest.
The app manifest added a <uses-permission name='android.permission.CAMERA'> </uses-permission> But didn't add a corressponding <uses-feature name='android.hardware.camera' required='false'> </uses-feature> <uses-feature
name='android.hardware.camera.autofocus'
required='false'> Which is necessary for anything that doesn't have a back camera, because just adding the uses-permission implies a uses-feature require=true for those features.
According to:https://developer.android.com/topic/arc/manifest#implied-features
If you can pass that along to the team responsible please. - jorlando17Copper Contributor
John_Spencer I have been trying to get anyones attention from Microsoft on this issue since it happened. THANK YOU FOR MARKING THIS AS ACTIVE, please please please do not close without a resolution!!!!! This issue is crushing us as well. We use chromeos thin clients to connect to VDI infrastructure, and RD Client breaking like this has left us with no fall back option.

This started with Oct 31st update. Have chromebooks that had it before being powerwashed and now can't re-install, the rest of our Chromebooks have the version 10.0.14.1182, but don't receive the update 10.0.15.1207.

tcdans thanks for the info Dan, what model of Chromebook are you using. I wanted to check if it was on https://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/dev/chromium-os/chrome-os-systems-supporting-android-apps.

Hello John,
Thanks for the post.
I have updated ChromeOS to 107.0.5304.110(Official Build) (64-bit).
That is good to know about Remote Desktop 8. I would try to download Remote Desktop. However, I am not seeing either one Remote Desktop (or even the not supported anymore Remote Desktop 8 which is great I guess that the 8 does not show up) in the Chromebook Play Store App.
I have tried on two different models of Chromebooks and appears like the app is no longer published or available to this store from what I am seeing.
Also, one of these Chromebooks had the Remote Desktop on it before then the Chromebook was reset and now no longer see the Remote Desktop App.
I hope this helps and thanks for your help.
Thanks
Dan

Hello Centermanager tcdans Cedr12 ,
What version of ChromeOS are you using? Also, are you trying to download Remote Desktop 8 (not supported anymore by MSFT), or Remote Desktop?
Thanks,
John
