Microsoft Remote Desktop [Version 10.9.3 (2158)] Alt/Option keys

When connecting to a Windows device from a MacOS device, pressing the Option/Alt key renders the MacOS Option-[Key] equivalent in Windows, not Alt-[Key]. For example Option-C in MacOS renders the cedilla character, ç, in both MacOS and the remote Windows device.
