Microsoft Remote Desktop Client Mac crashes when joining a teams call on an Azure VD

Since the update to Version 10.7.8 (2006) of Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta and Version 10.7.8 (2006) of Microsoft Remote Desktop, every time I join a Teams call on my Azure Virtual Desktop through the client, the client immediately crashes as I enter the call.

Running Mac OS Monterey v12.4 on a 2020 MacBook Pro 13 inch.

Update 26th July @ 10:26am GMT: I have found this only happens when the camera is enabled.   If the camera is disabled the call progresses correctly.

  • stewartgscott have you tried with the latest beta client (now version 10.7.9 build 2011)? does it still crash with that version?

I think similar.  When in a Teams meeting and select together mode , crashes

  • As awright825 mentioned, The fix is available on the latest beta client version 10.7.9 (build 2009). You can get it from aka.ms/rdmacbeta

I'm happy to report that my video is now working after installing Version 10.7.9 (2009) of the Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta.

This issue is now resolved from my perspective.

Same experience for me as well--the issue was absent in 10.7.7, and appears to still be present in 10.7.9.

I have exactly the same behaviour. I've turned off the Optimize Teams Video and Audio in the Mac Remote Desktop Client Preferences and it now allows video, even if a poorer experience.
