We have a lot of users that ad-hoc open RDP-files downloaded from a gateway.
It works if they import the file, click "edit", then "Optimize for retina" before launching it. That is however a tedious when you work with possibly hundreds of files pr day, as a connection is invalid after session token is used and generates a new file if you need to connect again.
Making that setting global for all opened RDP files would alleviate this issue
