In the demo, a template was converted to a VM and the template itself no longer existed. How can one make use of a single template to create multiple VMs?

May 15, 2026Hi Arzan_Patel - Thanks for the clarifying question. You can perform the following operations with VMs and templates:
- A VM can be converted to a template - The VM can no longer be turned and the files are read-only.
- A template can be converted (back) to a VM - This is a useful option if, for example, you wish to service the template (e.g. updates or other modifications).
- A template can deploy a NEW VM - This option leaves the template in place and creates a new virtual machine with a new name. You can deploy the template to a new virtual machine as many times as you wish.
