Will the task scheduler GUI handle the new gMSAs?

Mar 26, 2024Could you please define "handle?" Are you asking about management or useability?
- Arne KlæboeMar 26, 2024Brass ContributorWhen creating a scedulet task and setting what user the it is running as, the GUI will not let you chose a gMSA. It has to be done with powershell. When editing a scheduled task running as a gMSA in the GUI, it will not let you save it.

The idea behind a DMSA is to seamlessly replace existing service accounts. In this case, you would probably just use domain service account creds in Task Scheduler & allow the delegation to occur in the background. - Wayne_McIntyreMar 26, 2024

Hi Arne, In a migrated scenario, you would add the original service account name and password. However, specifying the dmsa directly within the UI is the same as it is for gmsa. We have heard this feedback and will send it on to the task scheduler team.
