Hear you Cem. But RDMA is something planned for Microsoft NVMe over Fabric, as stated in the video snipped linked above. NVMe-OF with or without RDMA (cherry on top when ready) it will leverage TCP. Whether it will use UDP (RoCEv2) at all wasn't said. I personally doubt it due to the constraints of NIC hardware still supporting iWARP today. Mind UDP is not generally faster than TCP. Speaking about S2D Microsoft currently favours RoCEv2 with Mellanox Cx5/Cx6 being one of the best NICs available (from my experience).

The Storage (NetApp) supports NVMe/TCP, not sure Windows Server 2025. As per their interoperability Windows Server 2025 not listed. Could you please confirm on it, is there any ETA to get supported. Also, do we still need to Enable any registry key at OS level. Are there any Configuration settings to align with Storage vendor(NetApp). Karl-WE OrinThomas @

SreenivasaVarma I had to correct my previous statement
RoCEv2 uses UDP not TCP, requires VLAN tag and QoS PFC DCB
IWARP uses TCP does not require VLAN, QoS PFC
so generally what I wanted to say that at the moment, afaik NVMe over fabric is limited to TCP, but unclear about RDMA, since IWARP is in its decline.I cannot answer your latest question with confidence. I will ask around.

SreenivasaVarma there is no supported way at the moment.
I would like to point you to Windows Server vNext Insider build that will be the first version of windows server supporting the discussed feature.
