Event details
1. When customers already using Dedup in Windows Server 2016 through 2022, can they simply adopt the new Windows Server 2025 / Azure Stack HCI Dedup features, optionally including compression, or will they have to disable the current dedup and enable the new one using the new PS commandlets or Windows Admin Center?
2. Will Server Manager > Storage also be updated to reflect the new Dedup, or will Server Manager eventually using the previous / different dedup?
Hi Karl, ReFS Deduplication & Compression is not related to the existing Windows Server deduplication. Therefore, users will have to disable any existing deduplication on the volume and enable the ReFS based solution using PS or WAC. We will look into adding the new ReFS deduplication into Server Manager in a future release.
