Seems Microsoft thinks that Windows 11 desktop features is what administrators want? I'm not so sure I want this... If I see already how Edge is not taking into consideration it runs on a server OS with all the stuff which should not active in such environments I'm a bit afraid about the desktop future especially in non RDS environments...

    We have received a lot of requests for these features, but they are completely optional to use, of course.

      Optional is one thing - but sometimes customers want to opt out of Modern desktop but keep classic desktop withput modern apps etc. Wonder why those customer requests seem to be ignored.

      We love both Windows Server with and without the desktop. The modernization of Windows Server 2025 experience is directly based on customer input. Windows Server Core is still available for those that prefer a server installation without the desktop GUI.

        Appreciate that. I am also a huge fan of Windows Server core option. Do you believe we'll be seeing winget support there?
