Event details
Ask us anything about assessing, protecting, and managing devices and apps across your ecosystem using cloud-based, unified endpoint management.
Welcome to our seventh Microsoft Intune edition of Tech Community Live! If you are looking to simplify endpoint management by reducing tool sprawl and unifying data across Microsoft solutions, this event is here to help. For three hours, we’ll be answering your questions about app, policy, and device management; security and compliance best practices; flexible deployment; and whatever else is important for you.
Engineering and product teams will be on camera and in chat answering your questions so post early and post often.
Agenda: October 6, 2025 - now on demand
- Inside Intune: Live AMA with product leaders
- AMA: Cross-platform management with Microsoft Intune
- AMA: Security policy and endpoint management with Intune
- AMA: All things Copilot with Microsoft Intune
This event will feature AI-generated captions during the live broadcast. Human-generated captions and a recap of the Q&A will be available by the end of the week.

It would be great if we could globally set app assignment settings for each app. Not every app needs to display notifications to end users, and not every app is assigned to all devices, and not every app is assigned to each group for the same installation time, etc.

Going back to user and device information, what types of actions aside from adding devices to a group can the copilot explorer menu perform?

Hi Khullar1979 - We checked with our macOS SME’s, and here’s what they shared: All the macOS SSO settings are under Devices > macOS > Configuration > Settings Catalog > Authentication > Extensible Single Sign On (SSO). If it's for PSSO, check Intune doc for more details Platform SSO configuration guide for macOS devices using Microsoft Intune. We're also working on PSSO during Setup Assistant from WWDC 2025 and will made available early next year.
If you can expand a bit on what specifically under SSO you’re referring to, we can provide more guidance. Thanks!

Please Include KB Numbers in the Intune Expedite Policy Update Dropdown
Hi Intune Team,
Currently, it's difficult to identify and differentiate between Out-of-Band (OOB) updates when using the Expedite installation of quality updates feature in Intune.
For example, two OOB updates were recently released to address issues related to the Windows 10 BitLocker recovery screen and the other is related to a Windows 11 issue. However, when reviewing the available updates in the expedite policy dropdown, it becomes challenging for admins to determine which specific patch to deploy, especially when relying only on the OS version listed.
To improve clarity and avoid confusion, I recommend displaying the corresponding KB numbers alongside each update in the dropdown menu. This would make it significantly easier for admins to identify and select the appropriate updates for deployment.
Please find the example below; this is the kind of functionality I'm expecting.
Select the quality update you would like to Expedite: 09/23/2025 - 2025.09 D Update for Windows 10 and later - KB50XXXXX, (KB details needed for OOB updates as well)

"Analyze with Copilot" option in Intune Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM) is not functioning as expected
When reviewing Support Approved elevation requests in EPM, there is an option to Analyze with Copilot, which is intended to analyze the elevated binary and provide relevant insights about the file. such as whether the file is safe to approve or if it contains any potentially malicious content. However, this feature is not working as intended. Instead of delivering detailed information about the binary, it consistently returns the same generic output for every elevation request.
For example, here I tried to elevate a very common App, when I check for Analyze with Copilot, it initially prompts like,
Get reputation for indicators of compromise 9742689A50E96DDC04D80CEFF046B28DA2BEEFD617BE18166F8C5E715EC60C59
But getting the output mentioned below.
There was no reputation data available for the queried indicators: 9742689A50E96DDC04D80CEFF046B28DA2BEEFD617BE18166F8C5E715EC60C59

Intune Admin Center Allowing Duplicate Policy Names - Needs Attention
In the Intune Admin Center, including Configuration Profiles, Compliance Policies, Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM) Policies, PowerShell Scripts and Remediations, Windows Autopilot Device Preparation, and Windows Autopilot Deployment Profiles, etc., I observed that the portal currently allows duplicate names for policies and profiles.
For example, I'm able to create two Settings Catalog profiles with the exact same name, such as "ABC", even when the settings configured were identical or overlapping. This behaviour is consistent across other configuration types as well. This issue is affecting all device platforms (Windows, iOS/iPadOS, macOS, Android).
In my opinion, Intune should prevent duplicate names for better management, clarity, and to reduce the risk of confusion or misconfiguration, especially in environments with multiple administrators. A unique name validation mechanism would enhance usability and help maintain policy hygiene.
