What Microsoft means to say is this: “We needed to launch Copilot on Nov 1st, for financial reason but it isn’t ready. So it’s GA for enterprise clients with 300+ users with Microsoft 365 E5/3 licenses who Microsoft permits to join the program.” The term GA is being thrown around without context of minimum requirements. Check out their stock price on Nov 1 after the announcement. I’m an enterprise customer, it isn’t GA for me as I don’t have 300+ users which means it isn’t GA for enterprise customers.
Agreed. Would be nice if Microsoft shared what their intentions/timeline are for Copilot for SMBs/Consumers.
I don't mind if it's late (2nd Half 2024), I don't mind if there's an upcharge for it, but just...let us know.
- Will Microsoft Learning Pathways be updated to include Copilot and prompt engineering training? If so, when can we expect the content to be available?
- Felicia, I work on the Learning Pathways team and we are currently working on CoPilot content for Learning Pathways. Our goal is that this will be out by the end of the year. - Thanks Scott. The Get Started with Microsoft 365 Copilot in the Microsoft Learn site is great. I was hoping to find out if the bite-size learning available through the SharePoint Lookbook solution Microsoft 365 learning pathways would be updated to include Copilot end-user training.
What is the Copilot Lab and how do I access it?

It is still rolling out across update channels, once rolled out in your tenant, you will see a book icon in the prompt window in the right bottom corner that takes you to the lab.- Can we give end-users access to the lab. Is the lab connected to the tenant and files?
- What are the best practices and techniques for improving the art of prompting with Microsoft 365 Copilot, and how can we effectively apply them in our work? If you can point to links, I would really appreciate it.
- KevinShermanWe introduced Copilot Lab, whose sole purpose is to make it easier for users to maximize their value from Copilot, back in September. Today, Copilot Lab is populated with a library of prompts that work with each aspect of Microsoft 365 Copilot as well as guidance and best practices re: writing great prompts. Copilot Lab is built into the apps themselves, and is also available as a standalone website (https://copilot.cloud.microsoft/en-US/prompts) for licensed users.

- Could you share your insights and resources on how executives can effectively utilize and adopt Microsoft 365 Copilot? I know every company is different, but if you can share some example use cases scenarios you have seen with customers that could be a good start for us.

- thank you for providing those examples, Yana. Do you know of any playbooks or onboarding resources specifically designed to help executive users get started with cloud services such as OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams?
- Can M365 Copilot be configured in such a way to avoid presenting results from specific SharePoint sites or other resources? Or is it truly whatever the user has access to via Graph
- I've read that to exclude a site from Copilot, that you need to turn off Indexing Site Content in the SharePoint site settings. However, this also removes the site from the SharePoint search results...
- Tom, yes, if you are a Site Admin and you disable indexing, it disables it both for Search and for Copilot. Shaun, if you don't want Copilot using content or resources on SharePoint or anywhere else then you should remove the user's permission which stops them from accessing the data using Copilot or any or other means. I can't think of any scenario where you would want a user to have access to something but not be able to use it. But if you have such a scenario and your org happens to have E5, then you can use DKE to encrypt content you don't want Microsoft 365 or Copilot to be able to access.
- How will secure access work when using plugins? As an example, if my client uses Westlaw and the Thomson Reuters plugin, how does that work? Does the plugin understand the access rights of the prompter to their associated application (in this case, are they authorized to use Westlaw)?

- can you provide me a link to more literature about the copilot salesforce integration.
- Can you speak to any security implications of Microsoft 365 Copilot using plug-ins and connectors to access external data? Does the Semantic Index just index a new data source through the connector, and work similarly to how Copilot works with SharePoint data? Is the connection to this outside data encrypted using the connector?
