Well. From my perspective the best combo will be Defender XDR + Defender for Cloud Apps. It depends on scenario and environment, but if you have BYOD scenario in place, once they are registered into Intune/Defender than system getting information about software installed. You need to look for many OS (Windows/Linux/iOS/Android/ maybe even MacOS). The behaviour is slightly different for corporate and non-corporate devices, as well OS type.
