Cost model is based on SCU. Is it possible to throw some light on how 1 SCU maps to a real-world use case? For ex: x number of questions asked in chat for Security Operations.

Thanks for participating in Copilot for Security: Customize your Copilot! For reference, the panel covered this topic at around 48:20.
- MFilipsApr 03, 2024Former EmployeeSCUs are a variable unit of measure that take into account the type of prompts, data that needs reasoned in an incident or prompt, as well as full session context and other elements. The best way to estimate and see this is in the usage monitoring dashboard within the Copilot for Security standalone portal.
- sumanthbr23Apr 04, 2024Copper ContributorThanks for the detailed explanation in the video. As a follow-up, what is the min recommended SCU we need to provision to start exploring the capabilities? Also, is it Pay-as-you-Go like if I use it for say 5 hours a day then will only be charged for that usage, or we need to pay for the entire month?
- sven007Apr 04, 2024Copper ContributorYou pay for a SCU like you pay for a running VM. You don't pay for the workload running, but for provisioning a SCU to be ready to do some work for you. You cannot scale down to 0 SCUs (not at the moment, may be later), but you can delete the Azure resource after your work and create a new one next day. That can be automated, but I don't know the API to assign that Azure resource representing your SCUs to Copilot for Security - so for me, this is a manual step.
