Is there any supported pattern available or coming that allows the transfer of Source of Authority from AD to EntraID (AAD) on a per user basis for clients intending to decommission their AD env?

a *long* time ago, a primitive way of achieving this suggested by a Microsoft employee was delete (or even move) the AD DS user account, then let it synchronise with Azure AD. Azure AD will treat as a delete. BUT if it is then *undeleted*, it becomes cloud-only.

 

Haven't tried it myself, and the idea was from about 10 years ago...
