For customers that are leveraging the Web Content Filtering, Custom Indicators, and Network Protection of Defender for Endpoint, how do these policies work with them or would this replace them?

Microsoft
Microsoft Entra Internet Access and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint provide different layers of protection for your organization, with the former providing an identity-centric, cloud-delivered Secure Web Gateway solution and the latter providing device-centric endpoint security value. Both products provide defense-in-depth when used together. To learn more about Internet Access, you can read more at aka.ms/InternetAccess
- williambrennanAug 14, 2024Copper ContributorI appreciate the response but while this could be considered Defense-in-Depth, it will likely cause confusion if the policies around Entra Internet Access and Defender for Endpoint are not integrated. If there are Device Groups in Defender for Endpoint that have a certain web content filtering policy that is more restrictive than the Entra Internet Access, than users might not understand why they can't access certain sites. In larger organizations it could be different groups managing these services. It also will add to overhead if there are specific sites that are either miscategorized or blocked explicitly, as they would need to be updated in both management consoles.
