Hi there and thanks for this AMA!
In the Exchange Team Blog post it was stated "Beginning early 2022, we will selectively pick tenants and disable Basic Auth...".
I guess those tenants are randomly picked during you analysis next year, but will there be any kind of notification
prior to temporarily disable basic auth for those tenants?
Thanks and cheers!

Oct 13, 2021Yes, there will be Message Center posts (notifications) for those tenants, who will experience temporary disabling of Basic auth.
- Matthias KirschOct 13, 2021Copper ContributorGreat to hear. Can you make an estimation on how far in advance?

Still thinking about it. How much time do you think would be appropriate?- Matthias KirschOct 13, 2021Copper ContributorGood question. SMTP Auth is not part of this, so i guess we mainly talk about imap/pop clients, some Powershell scripts and i don't know if EAS is really a critical one. Most of my customer should be already on the way getting rid of the last basic auth dependencies, but would be great to make this visible before it actually happens. I wouldn't be surprised if it hits the one critical business process no one looked after. Maybe a Month in advance via Admin Center and usual Notification and at some later point (couple of days / a week?) a headsup. So they can at least check on their current status and inform the relevant app owners. Would be great if you could take this in your considerations.
