yeah but you can't work offline if you have folders shortcuts!

Once you have a folder shortcut it will appear in File Explore via the Sync client and you can mark the shortcut as available offline.

    As Carter said, I also find it useful that you can then make individual folders available off-line rather than the whole document library. This to me is really the power of using Shortcut vs sync!
